Winooski Falls is Vermont’s downtown neighborhood, welcoming a mix of generations for generations to come.

Designed by award-winning architects and planners, the Winooski Falls redevelopment is based on the forward-thinking principles of “smart growth”. Smart growth calls for walkable, mixed-use neighborhoods with a lively street life and a strong sense of place.

The revitalized Winooski downtown will be transformed back into a traditional streetscape, with wide, red-brick sidewalks, window awnings and canopies, and trees growing through elegant cast-iron grates. Homes and offices will be intermingled with small shops, busy restaurants, and cafés serving coffee and fresh pastries.

All essential goods and services will be located within walking distance of every residence and office. Excellent public transit will connect Winooski Falls with nearby Burlington.

Winooski Falls will also include parks and public squares, as well as a Riverwalk along the Winooski River. These areas will host outdoor events of all kinds, from concerts to farmers’ markets.
